Need a break?

Do you need a break from the hustle and bustle of Dogwood Festival?
Pour Jon's might be just the place for a moment of quiet before heading back out for more kettle corn.

Perhaps a nice cup of tea?
Peaceful lighting.  Seriously--they have the neatest light fixtures in that place.
They also have a comic book wall in the bathroom.  :-)
Pour Jon's pays attention to the details from front to back.
It's a great place to get away from it all.

The Dogwood Festival

It's that time of year again! Dogwood Festival Weekend.

There's all kinds of stuff happening Downtown in the midst of all the festival festivities.
Here are just a few:

The Dogwood Festival Bed Races will be taking place on Saturday.  Head here to find out more.
Books on Broadway will be hosting a book signing for local author Dawn Denton's latest book titled Betzy the Bumblebee.  It's one of my kids' favorite reads these days.  Dawn will be at the bookstore from 10am-noon on Friday and Saturday.

The Dogwood 5K will be taking place Saturday morning.  More info can be found at the Parks & Rec building.  I've got quite a few friends running, so I'll be there cheering them on.

Fratelli's Wood Fired Pizzeria will be open continuously on Friday and Saturday.  This means that for once in a blue moon one will be able to satisfy a 2pm pizza craving!  :-)

Be sure to check out the sidewalk sale at Creative Corner on Broadway.  I saw a picture on facebook that made me quite curious.  They're selling bags full of goodies valued at $10 for only $5.  They're open from 8-5 on Friday and Saturday.

The Cafe on Broadway usually has extra yummy treats freshly baked for the festival.  My mouth may or may not be watering just thinking of them.

And there's more!  But you'll have to head Downtown to explore for yourself.

Fun in the Creek

We've had beautiful weather this week. It seemed the perfect time for some creek play.
We headed to the part of Sager Creek that flows past the Library.
There's a perfect spot to climb down to the water.
We splashed in the water...
...fed some ducks...
...and found some tadpoles.
Perhaps you should pay the creek a visit this spring.

The Duggars came to town!

The other day I heard through the grapevine that the Duggars had been spotted in our very own Downtown filming an episode for their television show on TLC.

I must say I shamelessly headed Downtown to do a little celebrity stalking.  :-)

There they were!  The Duggar family had rented bikes from Downtown's latest shop Dogwood Junction and were headed out for a ride on Siloam Springs beautiful trails.
Knowing they'd be back soon, I headed to The Cafe on Broadway for a cold drink while I waited.
My wait paid off, and before I knew it I was in line for a picture with mama Michelle Duggar!
You never know what might happen Downtown!
I have no idea when the episode will air.  If you happen to find out, please let us know.

I'll see you Downtown!
